Carpenters construct the framework for all buildings, including foundations, walls, floors, ceilings and roofs. They also install drywall, doors, windows, bathroom partitions, accessories, and cabinetry. They apply trim, moldings and repair damaged structures. The structures carpenters build include residential homes, schools and commerical spaces such as stores, restaurants, apartment buildings, bridges, parking garages and hospitals to name a few. Carpenters also build scaffolds for all crafts that help keep our country moving. Scaffold building is required anywhere a craft must work on elevated projects. Knowledge of blueprints, layout, electronic print reading, total station, and understanding of AR/VR technologies to make sure things are installed properly.
Working in this trade requires a lot of different skills including math, the latest layout technologies, and tools such as saws, hammers, drills, lasers, robotic total station, and measuring devices, among many other things.
